My Journey to Becoming a Communication Expert

I didn’t start out as a confident speaker. In fact, my first professional speaking engagement was terrifying.

At 27, I was asked to fill in for a friend and given just two days to create and deliver an hour-long presentation on creating a marketing plan for your small business—and I only had two days to do it! I had only taken one public speaking class in college, and I felt completely unprepared.

When I stood in front of that audience, my hands shook, my heart pounded, and I felt awful about my performance. But despite my fear, I did well enough that they invited me back. That moment became my turning point.

Determined to improve, I immersed myself in studying what happens in the mind and body when we get nervous. I took acting, voice, and movement classes, combined them with what I had learned in my communication degree about strategy, psychology, and messaging, and created a methodology that helped me—and later my clients—speak with confidence, clarity, and charisma.

How My Work Evolved

When I ran my public relations firm in Los Angeles, I pitched stories to top journalists and producers every day and hosted events where I interviewed members of the media onstage. This gave me a deep understanding of how the media operates and how to prepare clients to excel in interviews—not just to answer questions but to be memorable, credible, and compelling.

It was during this time that my clients began asking me to media train them for interviews and to prepare them for public speaking engagements. They knew I spoke frequently at events and consistently attracted clients from my presentations.

Soon after, clients also began asking me to prepare them for investor pitches. I immersed myself in what it takes to successfully raise money from investors—studying best practices, understanding investor psychology, and analyzing real-world pitch strategies that worked. These experiences laid the foundation for the investor pitch coaching I provide today.

My Training System

My decades of research, client work, and personal experience led me to create a training system that helps people become confident, powerful speakers in less time than they ever thought possible.

Today, I focus solely on public speaking coaching, media training, investor pitch coaching, and communication consulting. My clients have raised millions of dollars from investors, delivered powerful TED Talks and keynote speeches, and excelled in media interviews that helped build their brands and careers.
